Leaving Children Behind

I really wish that the people in charge would understand what not funding education will do to the future of our country. Who do they think will be running the country 30 years from now?

I love this article about it.  Well, love/hate it. Because it tells the truth, but the truth ain't pretty.

There is a rally in Austin, Texas on March 12. There are ways that the government can spend more money on education, but they are not even considering those options. What is more important? Pleasing the few rich people who donate to your campaign, or the millions of Texas school children who aren't getting the education they will need to be competitive in the future? Unfortunately, they have the wrong answer to that question. And they may say one thing, but their actions tell the true story.

I didn't vote for Rick Perry.

This is Texas Ya'll

We went four-wheeling with Chris's parents last weekend. (Which was on my 25 before 25 list.)  It was a lot of fun and hot and muddy. Although they say it is a lot muddier in the fall.

But there were tons of rednecks at the ATV ranch we went to. Like at least a couple thousand because there was an event. I don't know exactly what the "event" was, but there was truck racing. There were these jacked up trucks racing through a couple hundred feet of mud. I've never seen this in real life, only the movies.

I don't know if I could watch more than a few minutes of it, but there were tons of people who were just lined up. And some of the trucks would get really really close to all the people lined up while the trucks tried to stop; I would be a little scared.

Even if I don't get it, it was still fun.

Weather

Here are two weather forcasts for December 23.

While those in Utah will be having a White Christmas, I will not. Magnolia Texas will be 60 degrees, and that's cold enough for me.

TEXAS

Chris and I are moving to Texas in 45 days. We are kind of taking a leap but we both know this is the right step for us.

We have both been in Utah since August 2004. 5 1/2 years! I miss Texas. There are so many things we will have at our finger tips!

Our families
A snowless winter
Double and Triple coupons at Krogers
We can buy a house! (Becuase house prices are cheaper)
Blue Bell Ice Cream- The best ice cream ever
Real Tex-Mex with queso, Jack-in-the-Box, Whataburger, CiCi's Pizza, Freebirds, Popeye's Chicken. Basically, so much good food! I am going to gain all my weight back.

I am sure there is more. Chris and I think of something everyday. We get to do this in Texas! Or we can have this in Texas! We are super excited.

Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is one of my favorite holidays! Mostly because I associate it with eating lots Mexican food- which is my favorite.

In elementary school we always had a pinata, which are so fun.

In junior high and high school I was always in a Spanish class so there was always a potluck.

To celebrate, Chris and I had Cafe Rio. Although, it is not as good as Texas Mexican food, it was still okay. Just 24 days until Texas and Rancho Grande!
