Europe Flight- New Discovery

Chris found that every year there is one destination in Europe where the flights are cheaper. This year it is Ireland and the flights are significantly cheaper- like $182/person cheaper.

Ireland wasn't in our original itinerary but I guess it will be. We were planning to go eventually, just not this time. But these pictures make it look amazing!

Flying to Europe

I am planning a trip to Europe. Not just for fun, but because Chris and I might be going at the end of the summer. We are waiting to hear about some internships before we can make a decision. So every once in a while I might post my findings about Europe.

Right now I want to post my ranting about how expensive airline tickets are. I don't even know why I am doing this part because Chris is much better finding cheap tickets.

We would be flying to Europe in August to give us time to save up the money. Mistake #1. I guess that is the most expensive time to fly in the summer, but we don't really have a choice.

I am open to where in Europe we fly. So I was searching to find which city would be less than $700. The best would be $600.

Between Tuesday and Thursday are the best day to fly, so I picked August 4th. Also, we get double miles if we fly Delta, so I have only looked there for right now. The cheapest was $832 to London and ranged to $1080 to Rome or Athens.

Ugh. I really want to go, but I cannot pay that much for a flight. I will find it cheaper. Or most likely Chris will.

This is me.

There was a post on Dear Abby today that sounded exactly like I had written-except I wasn't laid off from my job nor am I looking for another one.

I am shy. I am by no means painfully shy, but I tend to be more of an observer when I first meet people. Once I'm comfortable I can open up and be myself. Sometimes it's only minutes, but other times I need to meet someone more than once. Many of my friends have told me their first impression of me was that I was extremely snotty. This is wrong. I'm a very kind person.

I have accepted this personality trait, but it may be interfering with my finding a job. I was recently laid off, and I'm applying for and interviewing for a new one. However, after numerous interviews I have not been invited back for a second one.--WANTS TO BE HIRED IN WISCONSIN

I also accept my shyness as a personality trait that those who love me can see past it and and some will get past and and know me better. But I have been told a few times that people thought I hated them the first time we met.

Well, to anyone who thinks that now, it isn't true! I don't hate anyone and most of the people who I have met recently I think are great people who I would like to get to know better, I just hold back a bit. I am trying to work on it, but it seems that I have my Dad's personality which is just fine to me.

Cap and Gown

I ordered my cap and gown today. It is finally happening. I can't believe I could be done with school forever. Unless I go back.

Hobby Lobby

Hobby Lobby has come to Utah. And I just found out about it. 

I spent my summer between freshman and sophomore year working at Hobby Lobby and Texas and it is where I started my scrapbook supply collection. 

Every once in a while they have 50% sales on cardstock and stickers and ribbon and embellishments. 50%! The best Michael's and JoAnn's can do is usually 40% off. 

So, the next time I am near South Jordan, I am going to have to go.

Two Loves Collide

I love the show Dirty Jobs. I also love shrimp. I think my love of one my have tainted the love of the other.

On Dirty Jobs this morning, Mike Rowe harvested shrimp. I had always wondered what a real shrimp looked like, but I never looked. What I didn't know couldn't hurt me. But this morning Mike had a full shrimp and squeezed the head off of it.

Kind of disgusting, right? This picture will give Chris a better reason to avoid seafood.

However, then I see a picture of coconut shrimp, and I think I can ignore the fact that my food used to have little legs and log whisker thingys.

Card Making

I have gotten on a card-making kick. There is a website www.etsy.com where people can sell their homemade stuff. Chris found it and said that I could do it, so I made some cards and posted them tonight. We'll see if anything happens.
